I have a 2000 Merc 9.9 sitting on my old boat that is for sale. The thought just hit me about maybe using it for a kicker on my '01 17 foot Targa. The 9.9Merc is ES only, no tiller. Can a motor such as this be used as a kicker?

    Thanks

yes ,most kickers are not tillers and are just connected to the big motor and steered with the steering wheel. check cabelas for the connector kit.

My thinking is that shoot, I could get rid of my bow mount foot contraoled trolling motor, one battery and add the 9.9 and not add much weight. This may be a dumb question, but will there be two sets of controls or one?
