Spent the weekend on Kelly's Island, had a blast fishing with some guys from work. Friday night, we spent the evening fishing at the Seaway Marina and the breakwall near the glacial grooves. We caught several different species-smallies, bluegill, yellow perch, white bass, sheephead, I was most amazed with the size of the rock bass. Man are they thick! They made for some fine eating on Saturday. Biggest smallie of the trip was 3 lb.
Saturday, we went out with Captain Parks. We fished between KI and South Bass in 20-30 fow. It took some work, but we managed a 6 man ticket. The morning started off fairly steady, with 14 fish on our 1st drift. It slowed down after that, but picked up later in the day. Nothing fancy, all fish came on crawler harnesses with gold blades. Most fish were on bottom, but a few were up about 10 ft.
