Keeping pots from getting scorched

  1. Learned this trick while backpacking/canoing in Algonquin Prov. Park in Ontario. Before you set a pot directly on the flames of a campfire. Take some liquid Dawn soap and lightly coat the outside of the pot. This will make clean up really easy after you eat. Your pot wont get the black stains from the flames.
  2. I wonder if this would work with my aluminum fish fryer pot?

  3. Don't do this for black cast iron though.....dont' think you want soap in contact w/ cast iron.....
