im kinda like bigjoe only everything I catch is a jumbo.
all kidding aside I do think there is a magic number but it just depends on the size of the fish and not just the length for me. a good fat 10" would be a jumbo for me but a shinny under weight 10" would just be another keeper.
im sure someone will chime in and give the magic number that makes them a jumbo.
Usually when you're in the eastern end of the lake-Fairport, Geneva, Conneaut, and Bula a 12" and up would be considered a "jumbo". In the western end maybe a fat 10 incher or 11 inch would be a jumbo? It's all in who's tellin the tales!
I fish the far west end of the lake and I agree a fat 10" or bigger is a jumbo for us. I know some guys that fish out east only keep 10" or bigger. We keep anything over 8" unless were catching a lot of jumbos like in the fall.
