I've got a 1997 Johnson 24v 56lb troller on the boat, and I'm in love with it. It's a few years older than my pervious motor (Minn Kota 50PD) but will run circles around it. The only complaint I have, is that it doesn't have a constant on switch, so you need to always put your foot on it to engage. Make's for a tired day of trolling, having to keep your foot on the pedal.

Anyone know of a way to mod it or is there an aftermarket switch that will give me that option?

    Thanks!

Instead of the bigfoot switch you can use a highbeam headlight floor switch like the older cars have in them. Real cheap at Autozone.
