A buddy was fish'in Deer Creek yesterday and said some idiot
launched a Jet Ski and was ripp'in the place up.
Bad idea....Meanwhile, back at the ramp, all the Stark County authorities
were waiting for him. BUSTED!

Now that's great news! I'd like to know if there's a court date. Hope they didn't just give a warning.

My guess is there will be a court date. There were 3 Stark Ranger vehicles and 5 personnel.
Plus some on-lookers. Pretty big deal.

All for a jetski with one person on it?..good they popped him but sounds a little overkill.

about time I can't count the times I called and reported some Chithead using a gas motor and always a late arrival from Stark Parks Kiddo's to the Ranger's hope the guy pays a hefty fine

All the time. I’m glad he was busted but I don’t understand the need to have all hands on deck. A few weeks back there was, I’m guessing, a DUI in front of my house. It was a 100 lb young girl and 3 additional sheriff cars pulled up. 1 hour and 15 minutes later, they cleared out.

just look at the current state of affairs L.E. is facing with lack of respect shown, being hunted, ambushed, etc. I'd show up in force for sure. Nothing to fear.

Have you not seen the current state in how police are being ambushed attacked or shot during routine traffic stops?

From an LE stand point: Sometimes we just happen to be in the area and or several of us close by on a call or detail together, hence more of response. Depends on the flow of calls or details for everyone for the day that puts everyone close by.

As far as the OVI comment above. You always have to 2 officers for OVI's since the field sobriety takes the stopping officers attention away. The back up officer usually stands by for the tow. I ALWAYS towed the vehicle, because imo you cant let them came back to the vehicle and drive away again. Ive seen that many times. State patrol (which drives me nuts with bad tactics and ways of doing things) I picked up a drunk and drugged girl on her 3 OVI in one night because they wouldnt tow the dam car since they had already arrested her twice. Time for jail and a tow) As far as the driver being female, 3rd cruiser likely a female officer coming over to do a pat-dawn. However, its rare to have a female officer available and you do it yourself regardless. In front of the camera.

Thanks for the job you do and I hope a couple of these people writing about "over kill" pertaining to the number of officers responding read your post.

FWIW...doesn't take much to pull a trigger.
Just like a 100lb juvenile...a 100lb girl can kill ya just the same as a 250lb man.

At my fish & game club the speed limit is 10 miles per hour. Well, for everybody except those riding ATV's or motocross bikes. They fly around the place like maniacs. I'ld like some overkill there!

Thanks Mickey. I had to retire a couple years ago due to many work related injuries over the years.

If I was a young person and considering a “career” to embark on( and could read, watch tv, and/or think clearly, LE would not be on my list! Everyday in NEOhio seems an officer is hurt, shot at/wounded by gunfire, or possibly died doing their jobs! Today, anyone can carry w/o a mental evaluation! The characters w/bulges you see under tee shirts back at Walmart’s ammo counter is just plain “scary”! Even a jet skier might have a speargun on board!

I was so confused, as there's a Deer Creek closer to me that is unlimited horsepower. A law enforcement response to a jet ski there would be “nice ski!”

This is the deer creek in stark county, run by the stark parks.

Now I am 99.999% sure this person wasn't on one of the new all electric jet skis. But ..... they may have to change that prominently displayed electric motor only sign at the Deer Creek ramp to read, electric motor only with a speed limit caveat added to it. Because you know dang sure someone is going to do it sooner or later.
