Rough north wind when we started at 4:15 with lots of white caps then slightly calmed down. Caught a 19" eye within the 1st ten minutes then another 19.5" 45 mins later. Redcraw's been taking the majority of the eye so kept chaning the port rod every 10 mins or so.Chart craw,:S,royal shad :S Mossback was taking a few and took last eye and red craw took the 1st. Lost a couple nice ones and 1 peeled off some line before it got off. Lots of pleasureboaters. Threw back 6 dinks in the 14"-14 15/16" range. Couple dink channelcats and a 9" crappie throwback. 1st crappie in quite a while. Waves building up along with many whitecaps when we quit at 7:45 p.m. All eyes on the skinny side..
Water Temp: Steady 78.5
Clarity: Almost a foot. Clearest that I've seen for a while.
Launched at moundwood, but way too shallow and too many pleasureboaters to try :T there. Wan't but a couple people bank fishing. The channel was a cool 73 degrees with lots of logs sticking out of the water,so beware if using moundwood.
