Ice out at Leesville?

  1. I'm getting geared up for some early Muskie action...
Is it feasible to hit Leesville right after ice out for the Lunge? Or waste of time? Last year I missed all of April due to a side job- Hearing from people & reading reports - it seems that May is the best month, just before the weeds take over in the shallow water- thanks guys.

  2. Muskies usually get moving when the water temp reaches 55 degrees. Early muskies are usually small males under 30 inches but if you can get one of those big gals that havent dropped their eggs yet.. that will make it worth it.
The state record was caught in April of 72. I would suggest casting... May and June always is best for me.
