That is one fish that would have to go on my wall.:B

  7. That has to be a faker. What kind of rod would handle that, or, if a tip-up alot of line.

  8. My bet is head first.

  9. If that is a real catch, amazing I am ready to go tomorrow.

But could be photoshop at work here.
Fish looks suspended in air, no hand holding the muskie visible.
    Jan 13, 08 could have been a guy holding a little perch ? ?

    If not then awsome.
    ...

  10. This is my first attempt at this sort of thing.
Remember the "Prom Dress" that was great.

  11. Haha, nice one reel!

Lake Minnetonka (Minn) is known for muskie and monster pike. I would think they've landed a few big ones thru the ice up there before.

    Fishman Catch bait???

I don't see why it couldn't be real. I'm sure there are lots of guys who musky fish through the ice up north. Heavier rods, heavier lines, bigger baits, bigger holes!

Up there those guys hand line, no poles for fish like that. They also cut huge holes in the ice in their shanty that is the size of a good size shed. I was born on Lake Minnetonka we lived on Crystal Bay. The fishing there is unreal. They regularly catch gills that are larger than the biggest we ever see here. Smallmouth are big and Largemouth small. Pike and Muskie HUGE. Seems to me that a local OGF'er moved up there last fall. Anyone heard from him, I don't recall his name. I would like to hear some of his reports.
That pike did look like it might have been photo shopped, although they are in that lake that size.

  14. OK, with just a brief Google, the world record pike is around 50 inches, add a generous 10" for guys head + tail of the fish, this guy would have to be shorter than 5 foot, or there's the new world's record your looking at.

And one more thing "email from a friend" ? ? ?
    Need more info here.

    But still very interesting...

  15. To me, it looks like a musky not a pike.

All your proving is that we can never trust a picture of your catch when you post on here again, Well done :D Speaking of which seems we might need to launch an investigation on your photo file, seems maybe you had some artificially enhanced fishing trips. First professional baseball now you, tsk tsk.

    WOW!!!you DO have a sense of humor:D

  19. I agree...that would have to go on the wall.

  20. Yes, I must agree. That is a wall hanger.
But you don’t have to kill a Musky or any fish to get one on the wall.

Some taxidermist are very good at making replica fish that look identical to your photo.
