I've been wanting to get started fishing steelhead, but we have NONE in this corner of Ohio. I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how far north I would have to travel to get into some decent streams. I'm in the Dayton area. I don't mind traveling, but the closer the better. Thanks!

  2. You are still going to come up to Cuyahoga or Lorain County to fish for them. I'm sure that others will agree on this that are from the North Country.

The southern most point that I know of is the gorge in Cuyahoga Falls, in Summit County. If the water gets high they jump the low-head dam up north on the Cuyahoga River and a few get up to the gorge and are caught there.

BUT if you want to get some my opinion is you better...."Go north"....to the better waters and other rivers!

Thanks for the input. I thought I would have to work around some dams. Any tips on the general area/ roadside areas that I might gain access?

    Thanks again
