Launched Hot Waters yesterday at 3:30 got back at 8:30 and people setting up for fireworks. Ramps in good shape. Fished for perch south and north end of dumping grounds 40-50 fow not a bite. Rain clouds came out of the S.E. and dumped on us before we could get in. It cleared so we fished front west side of break wall and caught double header white bass. moved straight north to 40 fow and pulled 12 nice perch in 1.5 hrs. Should have started there.
Went perching on 7/3 AM by myself. Couldn't find any perch in close east of Lorain in 35 to 45 FOW from St. Anthony's to Sheffield condos. Water was still chocolate. Went out to Lorain sandbar. Much clearer water. Lots of marks on the bottom, 32/19. 4O FOW. Mostly yellow perch, some white perch, sheepshead, etc. Ended up with 17 nice perch before weather turned iffy. Threw many 8 inch perch back that looked like they would survive.
