I am taking my dad out on our Kayaks this weekend to fish Hoover. I have fished hoover a bit this summer, but all has been around the south end. Hitting the banks, coves, etc around the south end, I have had some success with crappie, cats, and a few bass scattered in.

I have been google mapping the north end of the res and want to give it a go, but don't want to get skunked there. Anyway, I want to make sure that we are giving ourselves the best chance to get on some fish. Should we target the cover around the islands, or is there another strategy that I should be looking at that I am not aware of. I would like to get on some bass, but my old man wont care what species as long as he is boating some fish.

Any ideas?

Yak on a little south of the ramp on the west side to the inlet were the small island is.
Should be some crappie action out from the brush all along there in about 12fow.
