I've been meaning to get my canoe down to the Hocking for a river trip and I check out the southeast forum quite often but most of the posts deal with the Hocking farther south than I want to go (i.e. whites mill). Does anyone fish it north of Logan? Just looking for some info on fishing from Clear fork confluence. Any good?
That's where I go. There is a pull off across from Clear Creek Rd. that I use. Not sure if that is owned by the livery or not. I think that area is a campground for them also. It's a good access point, but, can be tricky when muddy. I'm planning on fishing that area alot this year. Clear Creek is pretty nice too.:G
I did a float last year the first week of June from just above Clear Creek to the canoe livery in Logan. Lots of nice spots along that stretch. We caught around 15 smallies, 1 spotted bass, and 3 rockbass. It was a pretty good day with most of the fish caught on buzzbaits.
I used to pull off across the Highway from the Shell station but theres alot of good spots missed if you do that. I go up to the light at Sugar Grove and make a left, park in there somewhere.
Yes for most part , Ive waded alot of the River from Sugar Grove to Guysville.
There are some deep spots but most of its wadable . It also depends on what
kind of fishyour after as to where you start in at .
