Here comes August ! It's a tuff fishing month!

  1. Speaking for myself only > I HATE AUGUST FOR FISHING !! I call it my trolling month cus that's mostly what i do, (so hot) and I troll deep. Take the radio and tune into a ballgame, bring bunch of snack food, watch for cuties in pleasure boats going by and pay close attention to the sonar looking for structure to come back to in the fall. Other than that I don't expect to much action fishing for Walleye of Saugeye. I'll get to parts of the lake I haven't been to all year just crusing around and relaxing.

  2. I do the opposite in august for bass. I slow way down. Fish deeper waters and use slightly larger baits. I also fish lots of crankbaits to catch suspending fish. For walleye trolling is just about the only way to catch fish consistently. Night fishing for walleye is very good this time of year. Shortly the weather will become cooler. and the fishing will heat back up.
