Thinking about camping on kelly or south bass. If I leave my car back on mainland ad only take the boat tot he island, does either island have live bait to purchase in walking distance of their campgrounds? Really looking for shiners if possible for perching. Thanks to ay and all info.

From what I have been told NO bait on either Island ? But maybe someone else can help ? Good Luck

Not sure why you would not bring car over ? Both Campgrounds are some what a walk from Ferry service Location ?

There is a restaurant/supply store in Put in Bay right next door to the Boardwalk (don't recall the name) that has frozen minnows. I have never bought any, just saw the sign on the wall a few weeks ago. And at this late date in the season they may not have any in stock. You could probably pull up to the Boardwalk and walk next door. That is the only bait that I am aware of on South Bass.

I would call the state parks for ino or check out the web sites for Kellys and Put-In-Bay. Good luck.
