Help with search function

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Kayak, Apr 23, 2008.

  1. I am having trouble with the search function if I try to include more than one word. Let's say I'm searching for Lake White -- how do I find posts with that phrase in them? When I try "lake white", or +lake +white, I get error messages. If I try lake white, I get every post with either word included and that doesn't help me.

    What am I doing wrong?
  2. Maybe I'll try to contact vbulletin to figure it out. :(

  3. So, I used the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page and got this response:

    Unregistered member,

If during the registration process you receive a message stating your
email address is banned, it's because we do not currently allow
registrations from users with Yahoo, Hotmail, or Gmail email addresses. This
is due to the high amounts of SPAM we receive from those domains.

You are welcome to register with an alternative (legit) email address
that doesn't reside on one of those domains.

If you are able to complete registration, our forums will automatically
email you a confirmation email to the address you provided. To
activate your account, you must click on the link in that comfirmation email.
If you do not receive that email, make sure the
address is allowed through your spam filter.

    Thanks, and welcome to OGF!

Ummmmm, this has nothing to do with my question.

Sorry Kayak - between sleeping and working the paying job I hadn't seen this post.

Something is broke in search - even a 2 word search is throwing and exception now.

I'll look into this and the contact us issue soon.

  5. Okay, thanks Jeff. I thought it was something I was doing. Glad to know I'm not going crazy. ;)
