Take off all the old line first. Then remove the outer twists off. Next click the button release on the reel...that will open the pickup, you will see the spindle under it. If there's still some line on it, remove it.
NOW....slip your new line thru the hole in the cover you removed.
Next tie on your new line to the spindle with some sort of slip knot, a hangman's knot works good for this. Replace the cover back on, holding tension on the line, spool up your reel. The tricky part is not to overspool it. You'll feel a change when it gets too full as it will be hitting the pick up spool. So when that happens, take some line back off. Don't cut your line yet...remove the outer spool, press the release again, check to make sure your spindle/spool is full and the line is not interfering with your pickup spool. Add or remove line as necessary (put the outer cover back on) to get the required objective. Then you can cut your line. It's best to have the line run thru the guides of your rod while spooling up also.
