I have a garmin emap that won't turn on. Garmin has told me that the cost of repair exceeds value of unit. Does anyone have any suggestions or should I just duct tape it to my anchor? ollie

Ooookay thanks for the response Steve and I certainly have not tore it down because I wouldn't even know how to test for a faulty switch. I bought the unit over the internet from a gander mountain employee who has a friend that is a rep for garmin, so I can't say for sure exactly how old it is, but I have had it for over a year and I beleive he had it for one season before he sold it to me. Any further help would be greatly appreciated. ollie

Which Gander Mtn. did you get it at? Just curious. Do you have the box or not?
