Green Algae On my line!

Discussion in 'Catfish Discussion' started by catfish_hunter, Nov 3, 2008.

  1. Fishin the Tusc the last couple times I have been out I have ran into alot of the Algae crap getting all over my line, I mean reeling in 3 or 4 lbs of it! Since the last I went out I changed my rigs over to 3 way rigs, is there anything else I can do to keep this junk off my lines?

Also has anyone been fishing the tusc and catchin any cats? I havent caught any for a LOOONG while!
  2. Braids(power pro/spiderwire) will usually cut thru that crap

  3. Also you may want to try a float rig if you are fishing for cats, and just suspend it right above the algae, also you could use a small float on the bottom between your hook and your weight, it may not keep that stuff off, but it'll help keep your bait out of it while your fishing and still keep a relatively bottom presentation. Hope this helps.
