I snuck out just before daylight to wade the GMR this morning. Caught a couple of decent smallies and lost a couple more. But it was beautiful. Just after I landed one I looked up and a fawn still wearing its spots was casually watching me. All morning I kept hearing a strange bird and I couldn't place it. Until I looked up and realized it was a huge bald eagle. No 20" this morning, but what a great start to Labor Day!

Beautiful picture. Early morning wading is,I think, my favorite type of fishing now. Some times it just amazing spending some time on a stretch of water with no humans, a few deer...and if I catch a fish or two, that,s a bonus.
