greasing bearing buddies.

Discussion in 'Boats and Motors' started by DoUPhish, Apr 11, 2005.

  1. Does anyone know how to get that rubber bra off of the bearings so I can grease them? Or is there a grease fitting I'm missing somewhere?
  2. Pull Rubber cap off ,Greese fitting inside.....

  3. That would be nice, but it looks like the rubber cap is going further back under a metal cone shaped piece, didn't want to tear the rubber too bad.

Tear the rubber off if you have to. You have to keep those bearings greased! You can always buy new bras or place hitch ball covers over the buddies as I do.

When adding grease do not pump to much. Only enough to "rock " the center cup. More than that and you will blow out the rear seal leak grease and basically defeat the purpose of the Buddy bearings.

All of the bearing buddies that I've had, and do have, are equipped with a weep hole for the grease to escape to let you know that you have pumped enough grease into it.
