GMR above franklin to begining of middletown

me and my buddie went for a gmr float today, about 8 mile give or take
about 8 hour give or take

biggest fish about a 4-5 pound channel cat

the two of us cought about 15 channel cat

we cought probably 10 smallmouth bass maybe 4 over a foot

water temp at 8:00 am 70 degrees

all catfish cought on spinners

jigs and spinners for smallmouth

from what i saw the little miami river has got bigger and more smallmouth around dayton.

no other species

the GMR is a great river for smallies but it goes downhill real quick once you get to miamisburg. there are smalllies all the way through but they get really thin and harder to catch further south.

25 fish for a days float,nice job ! Unless the fishing is smoking and making ya stay in spots for a while most of the time I float I give it about an hour for ea mile of river I float.
Dayton and N of it is good water for some nice smallies. Probably more fish/hour of effort from the stillwater but the GMR's fish are bigger on avg.Plus there's saugeyes in the mix. Been picking those up again since it cooled a little.TC1
