Back in the days of leadhead jigs I could get enough lead in a couple of hours to pour jigs for two seasons. So the title is quite fitting.

Maumee tackle alone pours 2-3 ton of lead per year for the run. Guy who worked there a couple of years ago showed me the pile of lead bars that they melt down in the back of the shop. They get them in in like 60 pound bars. I hope that Gary has good vents back there to get rid of the fumes. Now add the lead that the venders sell down there. Then add all the lead that people who pour thier own. Now thats alot of lead folks!

In the past I have been on numerous cleanups in the Maumee & also Swan Creek. Best item found (not to the planters) was a large amount of grass on Swan. The local authorities were notified.
More often than not line is the main item picked up now since not many people use lead jigs.

i used to work at pier 75 on the river across from the casino. all the floating jigs would wash up in our launch well...this was 3 and 4 years ago...im still using these jigs. i found and picked up thousands of them during and after the run.
