When does the walleye fishing typically heat up out of these areas? I have a 2 hour and 45 minute drive to Port Clinton everytime, and these places would cut travel time more than half for me. Port Clinton has been great this year, but with the price of gas, I can't wait to get closer to home! Thanks in advance guys.:F

Don't know about the places you mention, but I fish Wildwood and Chagrin river area. Last year the daytime bite got hot right around the end of May, beginning of June. Maybe a week or two later for you?

Are you from Wampum PA? I live in New Castle, and fish mostly out of Conneaut, sometimes Ashtabula, will post when me or my friends start hitting them, hopefully soon. Send me a P.M. if you like.

This years colder spring (still getting cold nights) may slow down the eastward movement. Last yr lorain was pretty good by now but the day bite seems to still be a little slow.

A heat wave could send them scampering for deeper water. Good luck.
