Fried Turkey

  1. I like the garlic butter injection marinade but I can't find it anywhere. I was thinking of making my own. Does anybody have any recipes/tips?

    I used one similar to this once on a beer can chicken

    10 to 12 lb. turkey
    - 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
    - 1/3 cup maple syrup
    - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    - 3/4 cup chicken stock
    - 3 tablespoons lemon juice
    - 2 teaspoons garlic powder (or 4 tbsp. minced)
    - 2 teaspoons onion powder
    - 1 teaspoon pepper
    - 1/2 teaspoon salt

    did you try gander mountain?i saw it at the reynoldsburg store a couple days ago.
    personally i'm just brining mine this year.i like the butter garlic,but decide to go the brown sugar/salt/apple juice brine this year for something different.

    Here's my dad's recipe. I used it when I fried a turkey last year. The best tasting turkey I've ever had.

    1/2 cup Teriyaki Sauce
    1/3 cup Olive Oil
    1/4 cup melted butter
    1 tsp Poultry Seasoning
    1 tsp Garlic Powder
    1 tsp Onion Powder
    1 tsp Sage
    1/2 tsp Black Pepper

    Mix all together thoroughly and inject Turkey, Chicken, or any other fowl you choose.

    The brine recipe is very interesting too. Did anybody see the brine pressure cooker recipe for Corned Venison in the Ohio Outdoor News?
