I have been wanting to find a product to toughen up some baits or re-do the outer clear coats on some cranks and jerks. What would be the best product to use for this application? For example, I have a few new suicks that I would like to put a hard, clear coat on. Any suggestions would be appreciated guys!

i use envirotex lite{any craft store has it} it leaves a nice hard coat.just mix equal parts like you would epoxy and apply with a tiny paint brush. a little goes a long way..

  3. There was a recent post on the 'Lure Making' forum called 'Envirotex/Dacron'. Gives many, valuable tips on clear coats.

I use Devcon 2 ton straight on the wood of the bait, then primer it, paint it, then Envirotex.

  4. You have to be careful about putting too much on some lures. They can be sensitive to weight and may affect the action.
