Fished Lake Snowden on Monday

  1. Finally got back on the water after about a month of non-fishing, hit Snowden about 9 am, plugging away for bass for about 1 1/2 hours with no success, my father had a few hits/misses on a jitterbug, I was throwing an old Big O bluegill bait, with half the paint misssing I have had for years and used with good results on a lot of farm pond, then I had a good hit. It was a very chunky 15 " Crappie who had inhaled the lure halfway down his throat. A very nice Crappie and maybe my biggest. Then a few minutes later had another fish on and it was either a Walleye or Sauger, not sure which, but it was only about 13". Always heard they were in there but had never caught one at Snowden. Both fish were near shore in about 5-10 ft of water, my lure only runs about 3 feet deep. Water temp was 77ish. No Bass, but a nice change of pace. Unfortunetly that was the only fish boated.
