Taken from -Saugeye Tom- and S.W. Ohio fishing/random pictures.

Honestly a great idea and doesn't really matter where pictures come from. My thinking was kinda starting a post with this for each of the Ohio forums (sectors)

I'll start this off with my 1st fish of 2023.

Don.

... I've been working this fish hard for a couple years. (Maybe not this exact bass) as I know there are multiple big bass...but either way it happened tonight as we came together and I got the picture/release plus bonus bass thumb 👍. Kinda like you deer guys and stuff hahaha 🤣.

I know and thanks. It's habit. I do clean and check my rods often with rubbing alcohol and I also do the q-tip test with guides.

... kinda was out an about at a spot this afternoon. Found what I was looking for ... Red ears. I don't fish for gills often but do enjoy fishing for Big red's this time of year...only difference between what and how I do it compared to others ... I catch by super enticing the fish and not jig/snag or something a long that line. (Gills are bedding now) I caught 4 red ears today and It took me two hours lol...bc I would just antagonize the fish lol.

Anyway I got several and more to come soon.

T-man.

Today, the river beckoned me to cast some of my handmade flies. Just walking to the river will stir memories of the countless times I fished as a child with my Dad, Sister, Grandfather, Uncles, and cousins. The river has always been a bond, flowing and connecting us all. I am deeply thankful for those memories.

While immersed in this reflection and observing the fresh leaves on the trees lining the river's edge, my fishing line suddenly went taut. A ripple in the water revealed the fish's decent length, a pleasant surprise given that my usual catch these days is mere creek chubs.

As I reeled in the line, a wave of nostalgia swept over me, reminiscent of the exhilaration I felt as a kid when catching a fish. A beautiful yellow perch surfaced, and I admired it before releasing it back into the water.

Walking back home through the forest, I reflected on the relentless passage of time and how it never managed to sever our ties with the land. The memories of the paths I have walked countless times before are ever present, evoking a sense of continuity and connection.

Yep love me some skinny water, usually overlooked and under fished. And a lot of big critters too! 😁. Oh and so peaceful, something about being alone working a creek or stream. You get to have a good talk with yourself!!! 😁

Hit a local lake today and had some fun tossing a twister tail around. Upon inspection of stomach contents I observed what appeared to be dragon fly larvae or other macro invertebrate. 9ish fow very slow retrieve

I noticed the same type of larvae in the bottom of my bucket that I put my wet wader boots. This was several days ago.

Got out early today for some panfish, turned out to be a good two hours before it got hot. Small plastics was the ticket, keeping it above the weeds. Some crappies still had loose eggs, ended up with 16 crappies and 7 gills. Stocking the freezer up.
