Yesterday morning head out of Rocky River to a 44 foot depth. Watching my fish finder I saw a few fish at 15, and then at 24 and 38 fow and they woud come in waves. At 24 fow one nice smallmouth, 38 fow sheep and 15 no takers. I was mosty jigging with a worm since it was a great day to anchor and kick back. Was hoping for a stray walleye east of Avon Point. Any help on what fish would be hanging out at what depths. Did troll and cast some of my old Big Johns and Erie Dearies too.

Thanks,
Mike

Walleyes have been suspended a few feet off bottom of late out by sandbar. When they appear tightly packed the bite is tough. When they are spread out in water column in loosely packed groups they seem to be much more aggressive. That's my observation anyways, I could be wrong.
