Went to the local pond yesterday and saw some hogs by the bank, but they weren't bitin anything I was throwin (crankbait, floating rapala,jig)...think they were just hovering above their beds. Any suggestions? Guess I'll have to try live bait.

I have also been fishing the local farm ponds and i have found to have more success as the sun goes down and being real patient. I have had success with with a black and chartruese jig with a black trailor and fishing well in front of me as i walk along the bank. The closer i kept the jig to the bank about 30 to 40 yrds infront of is when i had the most action. The action came Immediatelyafter the jig hit the water. But good luck and i believe with these farm pond fish the bhe big one will be caught when the sun goes down.:B

Pigsticker, just cuz you caught your biggest bass ever already this year doesn't mean you should hold others back.
Plus, sightfishing can be torture when you see them but can't catch them.

Thanks for the tips guys. With this weather comin in, I may just wait til next week anyway.
