Doesn't look like my wife is going to give into a boat so I am moving onto a Canoe which will prob be more fun anyway. Would be my first canoe and I am looking at this one as Dick's has a great price and they seem to be good starter canoes:

Any advice or thoughts on this as a first canoe? I will probably be using it mostly on the Scioto and Olentangy.

    Thanks!

  2. Looks nice! Lots of creature comforts. You must sit low, which will help stability for fishing. Remids me al lot of a kayak (just looks). Maybe get the best of both worlds.

As for a recommendation, can't help you too much.
I have an old meyers aluminum, that we like. Big enough for the wife and i, along with 2 small kids. We hit the stillwater this weekend, and had a good float.
