Finding the value of older reel?

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Bobinstow90, Aug 4, 2007.

  1. I have a Penn saltwater reel thats about 35 yrs old.....never used, in original box with literature, Penn packing paper, wrench, and two tubes of Penn lube.

Does anyone know of a site where I can find out what the value may be?

Check ebay. It's about the best place to find what people are willing to pay for a particular item.

  3. what is the model and year if you know it. I can give you a good idea of what it would appraise at.

  4. Its a Penn Mariner narrow spool model 149. Based on the manual and repairs parts list catalog 35B its 1973.

  5. The value as described is about $35.

  6. thanks for the help Leeabu.

  7. You can also try writing to bassmaster magazine. They run a regular column where people write in and ask about the value of collectable fishing equipment and tackle.
