I finally hooked something!!! I was at OShay this morning, had a Mepps inline spinner on my light action rod. I was on the bank fishing from on top of an old tree trunk. As soon as the lure hit the water, there's a fish on my line. It was obviious from the first crank I didn't have the right setup for this size of fish. so I get it up to the trunk, get a good look at it, and started dragging it back with me to the bank and the line snaps! Turns out I had hooked up a carp on a rooster tail. I was ticked I lost it, but at the same time confused that I got a carp with that setup. I thought they only hit on doughballs, etc.
