It actually called Elkhorn Creek. Anyway, it's a beautiful place. The water was very muddy. This made it difficult to wade a new body of water. The muddy water also made for poor fishing. I had several hits but couldn't get the hook set correctly cause I was using a cheap flimsy ultralight rod. I waded public access. I would of had better luck via canoe.
Later I drove north to a special undisclosed creek in the Kentucky River basin on my uncles property and had better luck with my fly rod. Caught a few largemouth and several panfish.
Creek, river...whatever. They have had a lot of rain down there so yeah, probably muddy. We have always had a great time fishing down there. We kayak a good stretch. You are right, it is a beautiful area.
