Fished yesterday between Fairport and Mentor Lagoons. Started out in 60ft of water and 1st fish was a 27' catfish. Thought it was a walleye at first. Started out slow-not very good marks. Moved around and finally found better marks in 46-51ft and worked that area for our 18 fish. All nice 20-24' fat fish. Chrome/blue & fruit dot Bandit 75-90 back unassisted and dipseys 3 setting @ 65-75 and 0 setting 45-50 back. Off the water by 11:30. Once we got off the water you could really feel the heat. At least it was not humid but humidity is coming first of the week.

Oops, dang fat fingers, never was any good at typing! Correction, a 27" catfish (Fish Ohio). That would have been a fish story!
Even the 27" is way bigger than my personal best....

Have fished this area for the past week and with good success. I have fished the 48 N and the 20 to 24 W line all week. It has been very productive. Sometimes it was fast and furious, and other times it was a slowish good pick. But all great quality 20" to 24" fish. Early morning the bandits on 3 colors of lead core was working good. But as the sun gets higher and the wave action slows down, the dipsys would pick up. All in all a great 5 days on the water.
And actually the traffic at the ramp today wasn't that bad. A very pleasant surprise.
