I have just been doing catch and release fishing recently.. I was browsing these threads and became curious about what the laws are for catching bait and what you can use as bait and what fish you can keep..?

you can catch "bait fish" (shad, skip jack, chubs, etc) in a net, but you have to use rod and reel for other fish you would use for bait (i.e bluegill)

Easiest way to know is check odnr website or pick up pamphlet wherever you can buy your fishing license. Some sizes are lake specific. Best means to accurate info is to go to the source, not through word of mouth. Can be way too expensive a mistake
