Ever knock off your transducer?

  1. I launch my boat at gravel ramps, and am getting ready to mount a transducer. I changed my mind from using a portable one, and am going to mount it on the trolling motor. I'm concerned that when I beach my boat, I would knock off a tranducer that's mounted on the back of the boat. I'm curious as if anyone has had a problem hitting a permanently mounted transducer, when they beach thier boat?

Maybe, since this is my first fish finder, I'm being a little paranoid.

You shouldn't have a problem knocking it off from beaching unless the angle of approach is very shallow or there are big rocks, stumps to hit. In that case your motor will be at risk too. ;)

FWIW - I've beached both my former basstracker and my current Fisher Deep-V with no problems. As long as there is a little water to keep the stern afloat you're fine.
