I also put this post on the bass forums but didnt get any responses and wanted to go up this weekend and was wondering what was a good bay to fish on Erie in the NW ohio region or no more than a half hour into michigan. To try to get some nice bass.

Try Sandusky bay it has smallies and largemouth. If you have a boat be careful of shallow water, good luck

Depending upon the boat you have, you can fish any of the following. Sandusky, East Harbor, West harbor, Portage river all have small and largemouth this time of year. The largest large mouth I ever caught in Ohio Was in the Portage river. 7.2 #

my boat is only a 16 foot bass tracker with a 15 HP outboard im not sure if that is big enough.

You will have to pick your days on the bay, but your boat will do fine in both harbors or the portage river. I fished them for years out of a 16' tracker and caught many fish.
