I posted this in the electronics section but for me it was a big deal finding this out. I stopped by my local Cabelas/Bass Pro (which I don’t like for so many reasons) and discovered that their Sonars are on sale. The HDS 9 Live I picked up was 54% off. That’s big money for me. All units of Lowrance and Garmin were deeply discounted. I didn’t look at the Birds.
If you’ve been waiting this would be a good time. The sale lasts through the 29th.
If you’re not a fan of Cabelas the units are discounted through the manufacturer so you probably could pick them up anywhere at the discounted prices.

Thanks for the heads up. I've not been looking, but since my electronics are from the '90s, it may be time to upgrade before it dies. Being on a very limited budget, the discounts would be extremely helpful.

My guess is that Garmin and Lowrance are coming out with a system like Humminbird,
without the black box, selling off the old stuff.
Could possibly be introduced at the Classic Expo next week in Knoxville, we'll see.

Yep, the new stuff is here. I hear the new Live Target is the Bomb! The old transducer is also deeply discounted…. Only $999

I've been using an old Eagle SupraPro ID depth/fish finder in my canoe and it works fine. I use apps on my phone for GPS and speed, so I've been making do. It's been a PITA though having to get my phone out and operate it while trying to handle the canoe and watch 2 lines while trolling. So, I broke down and ordered a Garmin Striker 4. It's got a GPS plotter and shows speed, water temp, and my battery voltage. It also has dual frequency and chirp function. It's really low end compared to what it seems most of you guys use, but a huge upgrade for me.What sealed the deal was a credit card I haven't used for over a year had a zero balance and enough cash back points to almost pay for the Garmin. So I put it on the card to show some usage, to keep them from canceling it due to lack of use, and I can easily pay it off again next billing cycle. Winner! Thanks again for the tip.
