Electrical Work Help

Discussion in 'Boats and Motors' started by mcmd8700, Jul 16, 2004.

  1. I need some electrical work done on my boat. Namely the nav lights keep shorting out (I think the source is at the panel not the lights), the rpm gauge does not work, and the stereo is not working. While I am ok with electric, I have no experience with boat wiring.

If anyone knows someone who is good at this sort of thing for a reasonable price, please let me know. I am in Cincy, but any help would be great. I may have to wind up taking to a marine shop, but I have no experience with which ones are more reputable than others.

    Thanks for the help!

just check for loose conections no matter if you run big water or inland lakes they will come loose and check the fuses if they are blowing you got a problem some place depending on how old the boat is corrosion may be a factor also look for wire splices that are corroded or spliced they may have come loose i am a pro at boat wireing have messed with it enough ;) ......hope that helped .....jim
