"Eating Fish" Responses

Discussion in 'Central Ohio Fishing Reports' started by Patriot, Jul 22, 2004.

  1. What a great bunch of guys, I knew there were a bunch of us who love Big Walnut Creek, but I didn't realize how many.

This is "Prime-Time" for smallmouth, during the hottest weather, anytime of day. I'll tell you, in my experience, all you need is a buzzbait, it'll catch the most & biggest smallmouth from anywhere in that creek. It'll also catch spotted bass, in the slow water. The pool that starts below I-70 is full of spotted bass, plus smallmouth. Some largemouth, too. Real mucky bottom, but wadeable.

If the thunderstorms don't ruin the water tomorrow, I'll be there Saturday.

Take refugee rd to where it dead ends into big walnut and cross the creek, there is a monster of a pond there plumb full of fish. Use to fish it alot in highschool.

Big Walnut is a favorite of mine.
