Has anyone had any success drifting in the river? If so what rig, drift speed ect. do you prefer?
I have never done it but know a lot of guys on the pro trail that do, watched it a couple of weeks ago, some guys from Kansas, never saw them pickup a fish, kind of cool seeing them float by our boat, I know that they drifted better than ten miles of the river, had the boat turned sideways, had floats out the side of the boat looked like baits were suspended under the floats and back about 50 foot or more from the boat, I know it used a lot in lakes when the wind kicks up, I use it at CJ mainly during the winter months but I am using it more this summer. Right now with the river like the dead sea and no current it just maybe the ticket to get on some good fish, I know guys use that tactic at some of the dams but you have to have a trolling motor so you can keep the bait in the zone.
