July 17, 2005, 11:39:57 Thats bizarre: A lazy Austrian civil servant has been given a suspended prison sentence because he never did any work. Walter Hendelsgruber, 43, took his employers to court for unfair dismissal but had the tables turned on him. The court ruled his laziness was so extreme it could be classed as criminal negligence - and sent him to a public prosecutor to face charges. Hendelsgruber was found to have been paid for work over a three year period but had never actually completed or fulfilled any of his duties. He was given a 15 month suspended jail sentence for fraud and abuse of office.
