need some advice, i broke one of my new ul ice fishing rods in half somehow..

the diameter is only about 2 or 3mm where it broke.

so far i have superglued it back into position but now i need to reinforce the area.

was thinking about using some fiberglass patch material, like the kind used for auto body work. maybe an inch strip, wrapped around the break. but i dont know if it will stand up to the flexing and cold temps.

    what would you do?

  2. If the rod was of tubular design you need to reinforce it internally with a thin diameter fiberglass rod. If it is of solid design then you can get a very thin figerglass material from a hobby shop that sells radio control planes and boats.
The action will be shot and you may be better off investing in a new onw.
