    From Cleveland:
    I-90 West to OH-2 West
    Take OH-61 exit towards BERLIN HTS.
    Turn RIGHT onto OH-61
    Turn LEFT onto US-6
    The Plantation is approx. 1 mile on the RIGHT, across from the Sunset Grille.

    From Toledo:
    I-280 South towards CLEVELAND
    Take I-80 E/I-90 E via exit number 1A towards Cleveland (toll)
    Take the OH-4 exit number 110/6A
    Lurn LEFT onto OH-4
    Merge onto OH-2 E
    Merge onto US-6 E
    The Plantation is approx. 1 mile on the LEFT, across from the Sunset Grille.

    From Columbus/Cincinnati:
    Take I-71 North
    Take US-250 exit number 186 towards ASHLAND/WOOSTER
    Turn LEFT onto US-250 W
    Merge onto US-42 N
    SLIGHT LEFT onto US-250 BYP
    US-250 BYP becomes US-250 S.
    Turn RIGHT onto FITCHVILLE RIVER RD. S.
    Turn LEFT onto OH-18
    Turn RIGHT onto HARTLAND CENTER RD.
    HARTLAND CENTER RD. becomes CEYLON RD.
    CEYLON RD. becomes OH-61
    Turn LEFT onto US-6
    The Plantation is approx. 1 mile on the RIGHT, across from the Sunset Grille.

    OR

    23 North to Route 98 North towards Bucyrus.
    98 North becomes Rt 4 north in Bucyrus.
    Rt 4 North to Rt 2
    Rt 2 east to 61
    61 to Rt 6
    Left on Rt 6
    The Plantation is approx. 1 mile on the RIGHT, across from the Sunset Grille.

    Directions to the Huron Boat Basin

    (Tournament Launch/Weigh-in site, Perch Trip) ​

    From the East:
    from Route 6/Cleveland Road, continue on Route 6/Cleveland Rd. through the east side of Huron across the Huron River. You will approach a stop light after crossing the bridge. Make the right at the light on to N. Main Street, St Peter Church is on your right. Follow N. Main St. through the "S" turn. The Boat Basin and Amphitheater is on your right.

    From the West:
    from Route 2, continue until you pass the Rye Beach Road Exit. Immediately following the Rye Beach Rd. Exit, you will get off the highway at the next exit. Get into the far right lane. This is the Huron/Route 6 Exit. The exit will go over Route 2 into downtown. Before you hit downtown, Fabens Park is on your right. Proceed in to town, slow your speed to 35 mph. Go through the first light and approach the second light. Make the left at the second light. Follow N. Main St. through the "S" turn. The Boat Basin and Amphitheater is on your right.


    From the South:
    from Route 250 in Norwalk/Milan, take Route 250 North to Route 13. This is the intersection just outside of Milan at the traffic light with a Fire Station on your right. Make that right and follow Route 13 for approximately 7 miles. You will cross over both the Ohio Turnpike and Route 2. Once you cross Route 2 you will soon be in Huron, slow your speed to 35 mph. Follow Route 13/Mudbrook Rd. into town. You will approach a divided highway with a BP and Donut Shop. Go through the intersection and proceed North on Main St. Follow N. Main St. through the "S" turn. The Boat Basin and Amphitheater is on your right.

    The headboat departs from within the Huron Boat Basin, west side of the river, and just on the south side of the River's Edge Inn.

    Perch Trip - Expect the boat to leave promptly at 8:00am sharp!
    ( Don't get there at the last minute.)

    ITEMS TO BRING
    **- fishing license**
    - earplugs-(the run out and back is somewhat noisy)
    -wide brim hat
    -sunglasses, sunscreen,/ lotion
    -raingear, cold/ warm clothes(dress for conditions)
    -motion sickness medicine(Dramamine,Bonine, natural ginger root starting 24 hrs. prior, wrist bands, etc.)

    **- NO MINNOW, OR PERCH BUCKETS ARE NEEDED FOR ON THE BOAT!! ALL THE MINNOWS YOU NEED WILL BE SUPPLIED. You have already paid for them.
    (The boat also carries tons of free ice for your catch.)

    -food, snacks, drink(8am.- 3pm.on the water)
    -bottle of water
    -cooler to put fish in
    -fishing rods and tackle: consider different set-ups in advance and be already rigged. Suggested tackle includes: #6, or #8 hooks; 6#, or 8# test fishing line; ultra light to medium action rods; blade colors can include gold, yellow, chartreuse, and pink; weights range: 3/8- 1 oz.; jig heads-1/32- 1/4, spreader rigs, crappie rigs. Bring spare tackle.
    - needle-nose pliers

    A couple of tips offered by "truck" :
    - perch feed as a school and when they "turn on", it can be a frenzy of action- keep fishing if they haven't started yet
    - if you aren't catching fish, but others are, watch them, and feel free to ask questions
    **Tackle suggestions courtesy of fellow member, truck and his wife. They go out on a number of head boat trips every year.
