Deep Cycle Batteries

Discussion in 'Boats and Motors' started by callmelando, Jun 30, 2008.

  1. It's about time to replace the 2 deep cycles in the bass rig-they are both Interstate & came with the boat when I bought it used (they are 5 years old).

Looking for inputs on best bang for $$ on std size 12V for running a 24V TM.
Prices & locations would be great if you have that info.
I've heard the AC Delco is great but can't find a dealer anywhere nearby.
    I live in Springboro, OH.
    Appreciate any/all help.

  2. I use the Everstart Deep Cycle Marine batteries from Wal-Mart. I think they were $40-45 plus core charge. One battery runs my 55lb thrust trolling motor most of the day and its my only motor. I have the second one as more of a back up than anything.

  3. Battery for me has been AC DELCO marine, they are maintenance free just plug em in to a charger and forget it. I have had bad luck with wal-mart everstarts jmo
had to get AC DELCO at chevy dealer

  4. I have had a Walmart battery last 5 years, and the next Walmart one died after 2 years. Same proper maintainance, distilled water, etc. So, I think next time I'm going to get something else.

Just bought a pair of Energizer group 27 deep cycles at Sam's club this spring.
I think they were like $69/ea. and have been working flawlessly all year.
