I was at the open house at District three headquarters this past Saturday and was talking with the Wildlife Officer from Lake county. We were talking about Daniels Park on the Chagrin when he said " they are going to replace the dam." He said the US Fish and Wildlife service is going to replace it with a lowhead dam that the steelhead can get over but it will stop Lampreys from swimming upstream to spawn.
  2. That's great news! I've probably caught most of my steehead just below the old dam. It seemed to be enough of an obstacle that lots of steelies would stage there and take turns trying to accend the dam. It was very entertaining. Too bad the one at Gates Mills is so high-hard to say how far upstream some would go if they could negotiate that one!
