Currents often help improve the walleye fishing but I've never been able to figure out if currents help or hurt perchin.

Seems my best perchin days have been when the line hangs straight down....as opposed to when the line is pulled some direction by currents.

What do people think and what's your experience perchin?
Do you look for currents or try to avoid them perchin?

I almost always look for protection from waves and currents as much as possible. I also believe lines straight down produce the most fish for us as well. I like my sinker to be able to tap bottom and only come straight back up just a few inches.

I like perching with 1-2's fishing off the back of my boat, sinker to the bottom than 1 click up. The waves to me help it seems, flat days on the lake are worse for me and my method.
