I have a crossbow and was wondering if it could be modified for bowfishing ?
I set one up with a hand reel and safety slides. Worked pretty good shooting a target but not so well on the water. Shot it from the dock and it buried so deep in the mud it was not worth using. If you could get one of those cheap x bows that have less power it may work better.
Better check the fishing regs on that one...I don't think its legal.
ARCHERY ANGLERS may use bows of any weight pull. A fishing license is required. Longbows may be used to take bullfrogs, green frogs, snapping and softshell turtles, and forage fish. Crossbows may be used to take forage fish.
