Crockpot Recipes

  1. This one is really good on noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice and it doesn't get any easier.
    Zippy Beef Tips:

    1 1/2 - 2 lbs. Beef or Venison stew meat
    1 envelope onion soup mix
    1 small can sliced mushrooms or two cups fresh
    1 10 3/4 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
    1/2 can of 7-UP or Sprite

    Put meat and mushrooms in slow cooker
    Combine soup, soup mix, and soda in a bowl and then pour over meat and mushrooms.
    Cover and cook on low 8 hours.
  2. Sounds interesting, what does the 7-Up do just add more moisture or does it give it a citrus flavor? I love crock pot cooking!

  3. I'm sure it adds flavor, but it also probably does a good job softening the meat up. Kind of a power tenderizer.
  4. No you can't taste the 7-up but I think it does act as a tenderizer.
    If I ever meet Mr. Crock I will kiss his lips.;) What an invention!
  5. Nailer-Do you brown your meat first,or put in the crockpot raw?

    i never cook meat in the crock pot without browning.usualy dredged in seasoned flour.seals in the flavor/juices and the flour helps thicken the base.

    i use the same basic ingredients in lots of dishes, with venison and different cuts of beef.but i always brown the meat,no matter what the yes,i've tried the basic recipe.the only ingredient i haven't used is the 7up.sounds interesting though....................and tasty.
